The origins of the Uniacke Dog Sport Club are shrouded in mystery. At some point long ago the MacKenzie Centre was home to the Uniacke Saddle & Harness Club. Then there were dog people, a beagle club, a brief land war with the Municipality of East Hants and yadda yadda yadda, consonant shuffle and *boom* UDSC is now a not-for-profit organization registered under the Societies Act of Nova Scotia and governed by a Board of Directors.

Some minimal amount of research would probably fill the gaps in that saga, but who has time for facts when there are dogs to play with and anyway, our version is likely more fun than reality. What we know for sure is that the MacKenzie Centre is and has always been home to a lot of fun, funny and interesting people who choose to spend their time seeking and creating joy with their four-legged friends. It's a legacy we're proud of and a tradition we hope to maintain for many years to come.
